Impressive as its proposed lobster cart was, it looks like Red Hook Lobster Pound won’t be one of the lucky few vendors at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 1 this summer. It’s been beaten out by Ditch Plains, which tells us it’ll be serving lobster rolls, kid-friendly lunch boxes, and hot dogs including the gnarly Ditch Dog. The city announced today that Ditch Plains will share the park with a Blue Marble Ice Cream stand, a Calexico Carne Asada truck, and a wine bar from Pier 66 Maritime, operators of the Frying Pan. Others who were said to have been interested were Rice, the Good Fork, and Danny Meyer.
