Just last night we were saying to a friend, “What’s up with the Conduit space?” (280 Valencia), knowing it was likely to get grabbed pretty soon. Well, tomorrow’s Scoop let’s us know today that Aom Phanthong, chef-owner of Koh Samui and the Monkey (415 Brannan) and the now-closed Citizen Thai and the Monkey, has taken the space and will be opening Another Monkey in as little as two weeks.

Given the quick turnaround, Stanley Saitowitz’s award-winning interior is likely to stay mostly intact, but Phanthong is adding some “wood elements and Thai decor.” Not sure how that’ll all fit together, but we wish him luck and look forward to having a decent bar to sit at again at that end of the Mission.
