A New Food Truck Arrives…And It’s Mexican, Kinda

Finally! A year after the food truck trend kicks off and turns tacos into the United Nations, we get the first new-wave Mexican truck hitting our streets next Tuesday. But this is hardly the return of L.A.’s street food O.G.’s to reconquer the scene they spawned. Instead the Camarena Taco Truck comes from three-month-old Familia Camarena Tequila as a way of spreading the word about their new blue agave juice, much like that Leblon Cachaca Truck we mostly just see parked on Penmar. So what will be served here?

To this end, tequila-infused tacos prepared by Patina alum and current Recess Eatery owner Sevan Azarian will be given out along the truck’s 120 stops through the months of June and July. Your first chance to try the tacos comes outside of Glendale’s Recess next Tuesday, while a larger public invitation-only party is panned for June 6th at Culver City’s HighEnd Productions, with tequila-infused cupcakes and a cooking demo with Azarian. Hopefully, serving tequila-infused anything on a vehicle doesn’t get anyone shut down, but a Facebook page should be up soon to help track the truck’s every movement.
