What to Eat at Basho, Now Open Near Fenway Park

Basho, the new Japanese spot from the owners of Douzo, is now open at 1338 Boylston near Fenway Park and we’ve got your first look at the menu. Uni alum Youji Iwakura has created a menu full of upscale spins on classic Japanese fare: think foie gras teriyaki, lobster-miso bouillabaisse, and hamachi pastrami with jalapeño aioli. This being a Duozo offspring, the sushi selection is also substantial. Perhaps the most exciting part, however, is the selection of small plates from the robata, a traditional Japanese charcoal grill, because nothing pairs better with baseball than izakaya food.
