Velvet Rope Turns Into Police Tape

Nightlife isn’t always about models and bottles — sometimes, it’s about knives and guns! While the Post reports that the body of a woman who disappeared from Marquee in 2008 was just found in Pennsylvania, the Daily News has it that neighbors are trying to close down a Bronx club, Pompeii, after a recent dispute in which a man is said to have fired into a crowd and then at an off-duty cop. Says a neighbor: “We’ve found bloody shirts in front of houses.”

And while we’re on the subject, the SLA recently issued a press release announcing that it suspended the liquor license of Djumbala in East Flatbush, where patrons as young as 16 years old were said to be involved in a shooting, a “large melee,” and a quadruple stabbing. That club has seemingly closed; the number was disconnected when we called.
