The Minetta burger wins again!

Deep as we are in the throes of food awards season (the Beards! the IACPs! Tonight’s Food and Wine Best New Chefs!), it’s only proper that Time Out hosted their Eat Out Awards last night. The Readers’ Picks stuck to the somewhat predictable (if no less deserving) Minetta for best burger; Stumptown for coffee; and the Breslin for hotel restaurant. But it’s the Critics’ Picks, with their retro-engineered categories (Best Balls-Out Endeavor? The Meatball Shop, zing!) that turned over some slightly off-the-radar stones: plaudits to the Chef’s Table at downtown Brooklyn grocery store Brooklyn Fare and Bed-Stuy’s Umi Nom. But Maialino, Roberta’s, and DBGB also picked up wins, so all’s right with the world.
