Slice has finally issued its verdict on Pulino’s — like others before him, Nick Solares isn’t a fan of the “party cut,” but he says the meat toppings are “the best I have had on a pizza.” The pizza isn’t life-changing, but it’s “probably the highest expression of bar pizza.” I Dream of Pizza also weighs in today. After ordering every pie on the menu, Jason Feirman complains about a lack of vegetarian options and uneven topping distribution, and though he likes the margherita that Slice said was “Di Fara-like,” he concludes “there are better pizza places within a few blocks.” And a few days ago, NYC Food Guy, who previously declared the salsiccia pie to be “breakfast in its finest form”, decided that in the case of the midnight burger, “simplicity does not yield genius.”
