The folks who brought you Jake’s Philadelphia Steaks (home of the “brutally hot cheesesteak”) will open Jake’s Sandwich Board on a crowded corner of 12th and Sansom next month, a couple doors down from Finn McCool’s. The meat-heavy menu pinballs around nearly every old favorite and current food trend. There’s pulled pork, fried meatballs, rib-eye steak with sriracha ketchup, and the Jake: “Rib-eye steak, fried onions, provolone cheese, topped with roasted long-hots.” (Rolls are from Carangi Baking Co.) On Sundays the restaurant will carve pork from a whole-roasted pig and let you select your own toppings, like a Cold Stone of the Damned. Preview the menu, and check back for a firm opening date.
