Last Friday, U.K. chef Darioush Danesh opened his eponymous restaurant to serve Beverly Hills what he calls a modern British menu, with French-Cali cuisine and Middle Eastern kebabs included. Although not personally connected or related to Darioush Winery, Danesh stocked up heavily on its output once he heard there’s a wine that shares his name. New to LaCienega, Danesh is keeping his prices lower than most of costly restaurant row and surrounding Beverly Hills, despite recommendations from advisers that he not do so. He is hoping accessible prices will allow those who normally don’t tread that well-heeled path to come in and try his dishes like free-range Angus filet with truffled potatoes and red wine jus or prosciutto-wrapped monkfish with caper-pine nut dressing.
