Back in December, Grub Street reported that Farmers Diner owners Tod Murphy and Denise Parras were scouting locations for their Vermont-based locavore operation in Prospect-Lefferts Garden. Neighborhood blog Hawthorne Street today confirms that Murphy and Parras are negotiating a lease on Flatbush Avenue. Details, and a curious business plan, are below:
The current plan is for the restaurant to be open 24/7, have a separate take-out station with prepared meals (a la Whole Foods), and a full bar. Prices for dinner entrees are expected to run from $9 to $12.
Farmers Diner is looking for local “stakeholders,” says Hawthorne Street. That sounds like another way of saying “investors.” Start your checkbooks!
