Blaming a scourge of pleasant weather, the charity-driven and weekly foodie showcase, Soup & Bread, will host their final event of the season at The Hideout tonight. But don’t fret, Doug Sohn of Hot Doug’s will be slurping things up as a special guest. Also, instead of just bread, they’ll be serving a whole range of pies, spearheaded by the “pie maven” Sheila Sachs. So, that’s Soup & Pie, we suppose. Either way, it sounds like a perfect way to go.
This week’s soups come from a host of local bands, cheesemonger Brad Bornac, and the folks at Swim Cafe. As always, the food is free, though be nice and toss a couple dollars in for the this week’s charity, the Ravenswood Community Services. The crock pots will be locked and loaded by 5:30 p.m.
