Fast on the news that Manhattan’s Death and Co. is coming west, we offer Downtown L.A.’s Edison as part of the cross-country cocktail exchange program. Housed in a turn-of-the-century power plant, the bar established contemporary cocktail culture in Southern California by showcasing hand-crafted libations and frequent guest mixologists from around the country. The Edison announced today that it plans to open a New York location in “approximately eighteen months.”
Owner Andrew Meieran did not disclose the bar’s location (the deal’s not final) beyond the borough of Manhattan, but did say that the “design will build upon architectural artifacts in the new location.” The Edison New York will also serve food. Look for more details, including an address, in the coming weeks.
