Mondays are for Drinking New Things

There’s something for everyone - and by everyone we mean beer, wine and liquor geeks - tonight. Limited edition beers, discounted wines and a brand-spanking-new cocktail list are all on the menu this evening.

If cocktails are more your thing, The Franklin Mortgage and Investment Company rolls out its new spring drinks menu tonight. Head bartender Al Sotack tells us his new favorite is The European Oils, created by Bartenders Bible alumnus Colin Shearn. The drink features rye whiskey, Averna, Galliano, Peychaud bitters and muddled Grapefruit, and is served neat with a “mugwort tincture rinse,” which Sotack himself created. See a pdf of the full Franklin bar menu here.

Meanwhile, over at Tria’s Wash West location, they’ll be pouring two South African wines, Wildekrans Barrel Selection Pinotage and Ken Forrester Chenin Blanc, for $5 a glass from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Exit 16, the latest offering in Flying Fish’s Exit Series of NJ Turnpike-inspired beers, debuts tonight at McGillins. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., you can try this IPA tribute to the Meadowlands at the pay-as-you-go event. Update: A rep for Flying Fish says a delay in the PA paperwork for Exit 16 has led them to postpone the McGillins launch event until a later date.
