As our old Irish grandma used to say, “Erin Go Braless!” It’s Saint Patrick’s Day, that special time of year when the McDonald’s milkshakes turn green on purpose and the streets are filled with people wearing the traditional Irish costume of plastic Mardi Gras beads and oversized leprechaun hats. If you value your sanity and prefer to avoid puddles of vomit, it’s hard to suggest going to any vaguely Irish bar today. However, if you do care to join the festivities, we would like to put forth the longest running show in town, McGillin’s. Yes, it’s sort of like going into the belly of the beast, but if bartender John Doyle, a 35-year alum of McGillins, who we featured in Bartenders Bible, is working, you’ll be in good hands. Hey, you could even head over there now - they opened at 9 a.m.
