If you have enough money, you can stick an over-sized fork in Pasadena and become a local hero. But try moving a food truck onto its main streets and find yourself pestered by authorities before the words “short rib” can even make it out of your mouth. Tomorrow, The Grilled Cheese Truck, one of the city’s hottest, will have an official station at Vroman’s Bookstore while contributors to Eat: L.A. emerge for a signing and meet-and-greet. The book’s editors, who come from Bon Apetit and L.A. Times, among other publications, will be on hand to dispense local pearls of restaurant wisdom, while samples from the truck will be provided free and its melty sandwiches are sold in the parking lot.

March 9th, 7:00 P.M. at Vroman’s Bookstore, 695 E. Colorado Blvd. Pasadena 626-449-5320.
