Goin, Gold, Kuh, and Cimarusti Among L.A.’s Beard Awards Finalists

The finalists for the James Beard Foundation Awards were announced this morning on Twitter, with just a small sprinkling of L.A. chefs, restaurant reporters, and owners making the ‘Frisco-heavy final cut (grrrr…). We were joyed to see deserving semi-finalists noted locally, and are equally sorry to see Mark Peel exit the “Outstanding Chef” category and imaginative chefs like Casey Lane from Tasting Kitchen and Petrossian’s Ben Bailly no longer considered for “Rising Star” of the year. While Grub Street N.Y.–nominated, as well, for best blog–has a full list of all nominees today, we’re taking a look below at which proven Los Angeles talent is nominated this year. We wish these local heroes lots of luck for the May 3rd winners announcement and send our congratulations.
