Sample Ciders at South Philly Tap Room’s Dupont Dinner

South Philadelphia Tap Room is throwing another in a series of all-you-can-eat (and drink) beer dinners, except this one centers around cider - lovely French sparkling cider, that is - on Wednesday, March 24 at 6:30pm. An added bonus, cider and Calvados-maker Jerome Dupont of Normandy’s Domaine Dupont will be in the house hosting the event.

Details on the family-style dinner:

Jerome visits SPTR to act as host for our Cider Dinner. He’ll present his own complex and delectable sparkling ciders, such as the vintage Bouche Brut, champagne-like Cuvee Colette, Cidre de Givre and more. Jerome is an award winning fourth generation Calvados (apple brandy) producer with Etienne Dupont in the Pays d’Auge region of France.

Because of its low alcohol, muted sweetness, great acidity and bubbly nature, well-made sparkling cider is the perfect partner to a wide variety of food…. which is exactly what Chef Scott Schroeder plans to make. He’s preparing several courses including local cider brined Country Time bone-in pork loin with accompanying veggies and salads, house-made charcuterie and a selection of cheeses.

Tickets are $55 per person, including tax and tip. Buy tickets through the website, at the bar, or over the phone at 215.271.7787.
