Seven suspects invaded Chaya Brasserie on Embarcadero last night in a takeover robbery at around one a.m. Neither the police nor the restaurant are discussing what sort of weapons the suspects were carrying or whether they robbed any patrons, however they obviously emptied the register and freaked everyone out. An employee whom we reached by phone this morning said that the manager got roughed up a little and went to the hospital with minor injuries.

Chaya, which also has three locations in L.A. serving sushi and French-Japanese fusion cuisine, wants everyone to know it is open for business as usual today, for both lunch and dinner.

We also just received word from their publicist (coincidence?) that they’ll be “springing forward” on March 14th, starting their all-night happy hours an hour early at 4 p.m., with drink specials for $5.50.
