Allston Wants Another Liquor Store

Allston Civic Association president Paul Berkeley may have been broken by the endless string of bars and late-night restaurants in the neighborhood. At a license hearing yesterday for Allston’s Wine and Spirits, which hopes to open in the former home of Marty’s, the generally disapproving Berkeley supported the proposal, reports Universal Hub. His reason: at least it’s not another late night restaurant! Boston Licensing Board chair Daniel Pokaski was incredulous: “If you’re in favor, you can’t be Paul Berkeley,. You’ve got to be someone else, who are you?” Just a man worn down by the Azama Grill late-night hearings, we suspect.
