Uptown’s Not-Yet-Open Maraschino Already in the Red

Maraschino, the restaurant planned to go onto the ground level of Uptown’s Imperial Towers residential complex, has hit a pretty serious stumbling block: after four months of construction, owner Milan Romic told Uptown Update that he’s had a falling out with his business partner and hit a stalemate with his bank. Per its website, the restaurant promises to “[breathe] life back into the impressive Imperial Towers” thanks to an eclectic offering of “Adriatic and Mediterranean seafood and meat dishes, with interior influences from France and Italy, and inspirations from Eastern Europe.” Per its balance sheets, however, things aren’t looking good: Romic says “I’ve got people breathing down my back for bills,” and he’s worried Maraschino will be foreclosed on before it even gets the chance to open.
