Taste Portuguese Wines at Jardinière, Meet Daisy Martinez at Destino, and Other Special Dinners

• The Food Network’s Daisy Martinez is hosting a Nuevo Latino Dinner at Destino in support of her new book, Daisy: Morning, Noon, & Night. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. on March 8th, and tickets are $95 per person, and $150 per couple.

• The aforementioned sommelier at Jardinière, Eugenio Jardim, is leading the charge in a series of Monday night dinners highlighting some of the international wines on the restaurant’s extensive list. For each dinner, beginning with this Monday’s Portuguese-themed meal, the kitchen is creating dishes specifically to highlight the wines that Jardim suggests. Next up, the wines of Sicily on March 8th, and a German Riesling dinner on the 15th. Each three-course meal is $45 including pairings. Get reservations here.

Nombe is hosting their first sake and food pairing dinner on March 18th. This will be the first in a monthly series, organized by co-owner and sake sommelier Gil Payne, and will focus on four sakes from Namazake. It’s a $45 prix fixe, and you can reserve at (415) 681-7150.

• And last but not least, at Tacolicious’ farmers’ market stand at the Ferry Building on Thursday nights, celebrity guest chefs will be on hand making tacos each week — or, rather, his/her “concept of a taco” — beginning on March 4th with Fish & Farm’s Chad Newton, followed on March 11th by Delfina’s Craig Stoll.
