Pret a Manger is Pretty Darn Close

An intrepid LTHer after our own hearts (inasmuch as we’re assuming user “nsxtasy” repeatedly visits the “locations” page of chains that don’t have local presences, in hopes of psychically willing them into opening proximate locations) has discovered that UK-based lunch retailer Pret a Manger is planning to open its first Chicago spot in June at 211 W. Adams. The pre-made sandwich chain (the name means “Ready to Eat,” get it?) has inspired cultish frenzy in New York, where there are over twenty locations. Having something of a weakness ourselves for their egg salad, to the point where in our travels we have passed up fancier, more worthy options merely to indulge in a pre-wrapped triangular sandwich wedge, we suspect the Chicago reception will be just as enthusiastic.
