O.C. Restaurant Week starts this Sunday. Since Little Saigon and Main St. Santa Ana feel special enough year-round, we had to consider what new and discounted fine-dining sensation would be worth a drive from L.A. With a $20 three-course lunch and $40 dinner, it looks to be an ideal week to squeeze in a visit to Pinot Provence’s new chef, Lauren De Rouen, in Costa Mesa. Having turned the restaurant’s image around in Sherry Irene’s eyes this fall, her hand-rolled pappardelle, braised beef short rib, and a galette de pommes, among the choices, sound like the strongest enticement to brave the 405.
