The Regal Beagle chef Laura Henry-Zoubir has taken over the kitchen of Church, spokesperson Nicole Tocchio tells us. Fans of Regal Beagle’s Ritz cracker mac & cheese need not fear, though: Church is owned by the same folks as the Brookline spot and Henry-Zoubir will be pulling double duty as executive chef at both restaurants.
Henry-Zoubir’s new menu for Church is comprised largely of (wait for it) upscale comfort food: think baked rigatoni with meatballs, pressed half chicken with mashed potatoes, and steak tips. You know, if you read through our archives and took a drink every time you saw something about haute homestyle food, you’d be falling down drunk before finishing one month’s worth of posts. Church’s weekend Salvation brunch is still firmly intact with new entrees like the aforementioned baked rigatoni nestled in with classics like Eggs Benedictine.
