Mobile gastronauts will get another chance at their own safe-haven as a new food truck court is planned in Downtown at Alamdea and Traction. The space will have three to four trucks a day, with space for customers to park, Matt Geller tells Daily Dish. Geller is the vice-president of SoCal Mobile Food Vendors Association and the same dude who started a food truck lot in Santa Monica last month that was quickly closed down by the city. Geller feels certain the new project will be supported by LAPD and local businesses. Both are tired of the food trucks taking street space at the art walk, Geller claims, which will coincide with the lot’s opening day. Getting food trucks off the crowded streets during the monthly event is “really in the LAPD’s best interest,” he says. The new lot will soft-open next Thursday, February 11th, for lunch, dinner, and to gauge demand.
