Bacchus Walks Away From Aqua Deal

Uh oh. Negotiations broke down yesterday and Aqua’s proposed management company, Bacchus, has walked away from the deal, as tomorrow’s Inside Scoop reports. Bacchus, who also manage Spruce and the Village Pub, came on board last fall in part because Bacchus founder Tim Stannard has a personal affection for the place. The Michelin-starred restaurant is now up for grabs again, and though Michael Mina’s expressed interest, it sounds like the lease at 252 California and an ownership feud among the family of deceased founder Charles Condy might scare off potential operators.
