Michael Bauer does some fascinating data mining today and sees that of his top ten new restaurants over the years, 62% have survived to 2010, including a whopping nine out of ten from the boom year of ‘97. A respectable five from ‘93 have lasted a full seventeen years, including Lulu, and all ten from 2008 remain open. We suppose this is a testament to what Bauer’s precious stars truly mean to a restaurant’s longevity. [Between Meals]
