It appears blogger-turned-author-turned-film subject Julie Powell is further tapping mentor Julia Child’s oeuvre for a source of funding. The Daily Dish reveals that Powell is holding a cooking demonstration of a few of Child’s recipes at Ojai Valley Inn with chef Jamie West, who more seriously, actually cooked for Child. Set for January 23rd, “Julie, Julia, and Jamie” includes Powell’s afternoon demo as part of a package providing dinner, breakfast, and one night’s accommodation, in addition to the Powell-West collaboration. During dinner, Powell will discuss the dishes and sign her book which is included in the cost, before the film based on her ahem, exploits, is screened over a dessert bar.
Couples will pay $700 and individuals will pony up $500 for Powell face-time. An option exists to replace Powell’s demo with golf, something to consider if she’s anything like Amy Adams. Reservations can be made at (800) 422-6524 and an itinerary is available online.
