The latest Kogi rumors had New York pumped that the truck side Korean tacos would next appear in the Big Apple, but it turns out the company is staying close to home for its next move. Kogi Chef Roy Choi welcomed Food & Wine to L.A. and revealed that he and his cohorts are planning their own restaurant on Overland in West L.A. The restaurant plans to focus on rice bowls in a diner setting with counter service and is scheduled to open on February 24th, Choi’s birthday. A fixed locale for the chef who started 2009’s roaming culinary craze? Expect all eyes to stay on Kogi as 2010 revs its engine.
