It’s Official: Choucroute Garnie is the New Hotness

When we saw choucroute garnie on the menu at David Carrier’s Kith & Kin, we called it right then and there as one of the trends for 2010 — a position confirmed by its appearance on the reopening menu for Branch 27 a few days later. It looks like Time Out Chicago agrees with us: choucroute gets their stamp of approval as a trend to watch this week. The rag adding the versions at West Town Tavern and the special Mangalitsa chocroute at Blackbird to the mounting pile of evidence that a plate of pork-laden sauerkraut is just about the coolest thing going these days.
