Taverns: so hot right now. At least, that’s what the Globe claims in a story today focusing on Woodward, Post 390, and Stoddard’s Fine Food & Ale. That’s all well and good, but the Hub’s love affair for taverns isn’t exactly a new thing. Just look at Brookline, where classic taverns like The Publick House, The Fireplace, Beacon Street Tavern, and The Washington Square Tavern have been thriving for years. We’d argue that what we’re seeing with Woodward, Post 390, and Stoddard’s is just the tavern trend finally trickling downtown.
