Which Food Term Should Be Taken Off the Menu?

Food blog readers *love* to argue. Case in point: Serious Eats unleashed a commenter war when they polled readers about food terms they thought needed to die in 2010. The biggest offenders: “food porn,” “rezzie,” “mouthfeel,” and “sammie/sammy.” In the case of “toothsome,” we have to blame Top Chef finalist Kevin Gillespie for encouraging people, after he whipped it out in a lame defense of some tough, undercooked brisket. As for the term “foodie,” sure, it’s pretty much lost all meaning now that everyone who knows their taco trucks can call themselves foodies. So, uh, now what do we call ourselves? Noshmasters? Grubbies?
