Fat, Stubborn Americans Reduce Jamie Oliver to Tears

ABC has released the trailer for Jamie Oliver’s new TV show, Food Revolution, about his quest to transform “the most unhealthy town in America” (Huntington, West Virginia) into some sort of crunchy hippie commune. Or, as the voice-over puts it: “One man will try to save 50,000 lives.” He tries to endear himself to the locals by sporting hoodies and baseball caps (and, er, a giant pea costume), but ends up confronting skeptics (“I thought there was only miserable bastards like that in England!”) and scary frankenfoods (“In all of my years, I’ve never seen pizza given for breakfast!”). It’s enough to make a grown man cry. And it does! Consider it karma for all the Americans that other British chef has made cry on TV. The show premieres March 26.
