Cora’s former large space

We always thought Culver City’s Cora’s Mexican Restaurant, like Mrs. Garcia’s before it, seemed to occupy a lot of space for one restaurant and it looks like Sheriff Lee Baca might have noticed the same. We just discovered that Cora’s has been shuttered, with visible signs of dismantling within. An eviction notice dated back to September from Baca is taped to the door and the restaurant’s phone is currently shut-off, holding us off from keeping tabs on where Mama Cora and crew might be headed next. While family-run Mexican restaurants in massive spaces might be on the wane, good hole-in-the-wall meals from El Charro to El Jacalito still speckle Venice and Washington Boulevards both.
