Palio D’Asti got a little screwed on New Year’s Eve, with 40 no-shows among their reservations. They emailed Michael Bauer about it, and he’s also been hearing from miffed patrons at places like Boulevard and Coi who don’t like suddenly having to put money down to reserve a seat, or enter into some kind of emailed reservation contract. Well, get used to it, folks. This kind of thing’s been going on in New York for decades, and even Mr. Bauer is warming up to the idea, for the restaurants’ sake.
