Time is running out to secure yourself a table for the last New Year’s Eve of the Awful Aughts. But with the citywide average being a $75 per person prix fixe not including wine, we scanned through Open Table to suss out the less pricey deals on offer in this still sluggish economy.

Enjoy some jambalaya, grits, and fried chicken at Farmer Brown’s downtown, Southern-style New Year’s Eve, which will also feature live DJs. Reserve here.

$50 for passed nibbles, soba, ozoni, and two special sake shots
To celebrate their recent opening and more recent liquor license, this Outer Mission Izakaya is offering a prix fixe and what will likely be a fun atmosphere, with music and a ceremonial cracking of the New Year’s sake barrel at midnight. Reserve here.

Seared foie gras, oysters, and lobster risotto are all promised at this tiny Nob Hill Euro-Japanese joint, along with a complimentary cocktail which brings down the food price to about $50. Reserve here.

$39.95 surf and turf
There’s no where better to kick it old school for New Year’s, with a filet mignon and a lobster tail. The salad and sides will run you extra, but you still might be able to get out of here for $50 or so on food. Reserve here.
