Lincoln Park newbie Kith & Kin (1119 W Webster Ave, 773 472 7070) is now open, per TOC — and owners David Carrier and Ash Taleb are apparently already gearing up for another opening, an Andersonville joint called Table. But let’s focus on the here and now: Kith’s Andrew Brochu-helmed kitchen plays towards upscale comfort, with an entire section of the menu devoted to “Crocks” (purees, pates, and — oddly enough, since we think of it as an on-a-plate food — poutine).
From there it’s standard categories: pasta, salads, seafood, the obligatory burger and roasted chicken, but there are enough inspired menu choices to make things interesting. Shrimp and grits, a ribeye for two, cod poached in coconut broth — not to mention a bacon-studded main course of choucroute, which we’re calling here and now as a trend to watch. Check out the whole menu over at Time Out. [TOC]
