Upper East Side Restaurant Inspires Unappetizing Movie

Didn’t think there could be a dumber restaurant comedy than the truly horrible Waiting…? Well, a contender for the title, The Slammin’ Salmon, comes out tomorrow. It’s set in a Miami restaurant, but a Moviefone interview with director Kevin Heffernan reveals that three of the writers (members of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe, and the geniuses behind Beerfest) got material while working together at Busby’s on the Upper East Side. If the trailer is any indicator, it’s no wonder Busby’s no longer exists (it was replaced by Café 92, and then Joanna’s, and then Paola’s).
