Today the Chron discovered (or re-discovered) the whole nonstaurant trend. Staff writer Stacy Finz provides a mini year-end roundup of the Bay Area’s recent unconventional dining opportunities, including Joshua Skenes’ Saison, and Ubuntu’s chef dinners. The biggest take-away: the guys from Free Range Dining, Kai Schoenhals and his buddy Daniel (both from Poland), are gearing up to start hosting traveling dinner parties aboard their ‘57 Greyhound bus, which are set to begin this spring. Until then, you can keep up with their next back-of-a-dive bar dinner service at their website.
