To celebrate its two-year anniversary, Somerville’s Kickass Cupcakes invited customers to create new cupcakes for the bakery. Over two hundred entries came in, from which two winners, which will be sold at Kickass next month, have been chosen. The winners (an espresso based cake with a topping of blended Nutella and Fluff and a sprinkling of Taza chocolate nibs, and a pistachio-cardamom cake with cream cheese frosting) sound delicious, but it’s the honorable mention that’s most delightful. Local four year old Antonio Santos submitted an entry for “The Yummiest Cupcake in the World”: a cake made of “yummy cookie batter” topped with chocolate frosting and chocolate sprinkles. Kid, you’ve got a future in baked goods! Now if only he were allowed to say the store’s name.
