Health Department Bars Street Vendors From Selling Seafood

Midtown Lunch notices a revision in the Health Department code prohibiting street vendors from selling seafood of any kind that will take effect on January 1. Also new are laws requiring prepared vegetables and fruit to be refrigerated properly, so no more buying a clamshell container of sliced mango stored on a bed of ice. The seafood rule will affect many businesses, says Midtown Lunch, namely Kwik Meal’s tilapia sandwich and pretty much half of the menu at Kim’s Aunt. Anticipatory eulogies are now being accepted over at the street-cart site. Go pay your respects.
