Nombe Gets Liquor License

An early review just went up praising the small plates at Gil Payne and Mari Takahashi’s Nombe in the Mission, but in mentioning that the place was still BYOB the reviewer seems to be a few weeks out of date. Nombe now has their license to sell beer and wine, and with their selection of shochu cocktails with fresh ingredients (blood orange, yuzu, grapefruit, oolong), they’re now a bonafide Izakaya (a Japanese gastropub) where you can get just as drunk as you can full. Also, they’re hosting a New Year’s Eve party, with a ceremonial cracking of the New Year’s sake barrel at midnight. Tickets are $50, food and some sake included. Make your reservations at 415.681.7150.
