We were pleasantly surprised to hear that Bruce Marder is coming east to join December’s month of restaurant rebirths and empire expansions. His new House Café will likely soft-open this Thursday on Beverly Blvd., reports Eater, with cuisine sounding like a cross between the brunchy fare of Marder’s Cora’s Coffee Shop (burrata omelets) and the sophisticated approach to meat and fish found at his Capo (cote de boeuf, steamed branzino). Fittingly, House Café will find Capo chef Ricky Moreno behind the stoves and Marder’s Medi-Cali fare will get a dose of Middle Eastern influence here. Also, unique for the small and casual approach, there are wine lockers to store your vino. House Café will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 8114 Beverly Blvd.
