What to Eat at Symphony 8, Opening Next Week

Symphony 8 will open in the old Tiger Lily space next Tuesday and it’s quite the to-do. The restaurant houses two distinct concepts — Symphony 8, an upscale comfort food eatery targeted at BSO-goers, and Siánsa 8, an Irish pub (Siánsa is Gaelic for “melody”). We’ll have the latter menu for you tomorrow, but in the meantime, let’s take a look at what chef Josh Davis has planned for Symphony 8. The menu spans the gamut from upscale fare like pesto and goat cheese encrusted salmon to promising-sounding pizzas like the clam-topped New Haven Classic White to a burger stuffed with bacon and cheddar. Oh, and there’s chicken and waffles as well. The prices are very reasonable (think $19 for filet mignon), so expect this to be a bustling pre-symphony/Huntington option.

The Jumbo Lump Crab Sandwich
A 5 oz. crab cake made with jumbo lump crabmeat is
coated in panko breadcrumbs and gently browned. 11

House braised corn beef sliced thin, and piled on toasted
rye bread with Russian dressing, Swiss and our own
toasted caraway seed kraut 9

Citrus Glazed Duck Breast
Pan seared duck breast cooked to order and glazed
with a 3 citrus sauce. Served with mashed potato
and sautéed spinach. 15

Rare seared tuna served with a lemon fingerling

Tuxedo Halibut
Black and white sesame seed crusted halibut served
atop asparagus and sticky coconut rice cake and topped

Garlic Shrimp and Penne
Jumbo shrimp sautéed with fresh garlic, plum tomatoes
asparagus and fresh basil. Then tossed with penne
and doused with white wine, roasted garlic and fresh

Guinness Braised Short Ribs
A beautiful boneless beef short rib is braised in Guinness
for 6 hours until fork tender, and served atop garlic
mashed potato in a pan sauce with sautéed spinach. 16
Dijon Molasses Glazed Pork Loin
Fresh pork tenderloin is glazed in a Dijon molasses sauce
and roasted to order then sliced and served atop garlic
mashed potato and sautéed spinach. 16
Flat Top Chicken
A half chicken is marinated in fresh herbs and garlic, then
cooked on the flat top until the skin is crisp and golden.
Topped with herbed goat cheese and served atop garlic
mashed potato and sautéed spinach. 16
Baked 4 Cheese Mac and Cheese
Pasta tossed with 4 kinds of cheese, a little cream and
our special blend of herbs and spices. Then topped
with Parmesan herb bread crumbs and baked until
golden brown and bubbling. 11

A fresh 8 oz. salmon filet is coated with pesto and goat
cheese, topped with bread crumbs and baked golden
brown. Served with mashed potato and asparagus. 15

An 8 oz. center cut filet grilled to order and served
with mashed potato and sautéed spinach. 19

Hand tossed pizza dough brushed with bbq sauce,
and topped with chicken breast, cheddar, mozzarella,
and fresh cilantro. 11
New Haven Classic White
Fresh clam bellies sautéed with pancetta, garlic and
oregano drizzled with olive oil and shaved Parmesan. 13

Pepperoni, roasted peppers and mozzarella with

Sweet Italian sausage, slow roasted onions and fresh basil
