Over on Kearny Street, Chill wasn’t working out. The whole yogurt/smoothie/dessert cafe concept just wasn’t bringing them in like it was supposed to, but instead of joining the ranks of the shuttered, owner Trang Nguyen simply shifted gears, got Poleng Lounge’s Tim Luym to create a bunch of legitimate savory lunch options, and reopened today as Urban Picnic (menu below). The new restaurant looks pretty much the same as the old, but now you can eat something aside from frozen sweet stuff there. Novel, no?
