What’s on deck in the foodie event world this week? There’s a pedestrian-powered tour of Philly’s notable burgers, a homebrew competition at Meme and a bacon-themed art exhibit for starters. Details right this way.
• On Tuesday, November 3 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.Meme is hosting its second home brew competition. Ten amateur brewmasters will tote their masterpieces to the restaurant and guests will get to sample and vote for the winners. Chefs Joey Chmiko of Resurrection Ale House and Meme’s David Katz are sharing kitchen duties. $25 to attend, no reservations necessary. [Meme]
• Tickets are still available for First Person Arts’ Burger Cruise with Foobooz Art, also on Tuesday night. For $55, you get a guided eating tour of four of Philly’s notable burgers paired with local brews. [First Person Arts]
•Chifa and Victory Beer are partnering for a beer dinner on Friday, November 6. Five courses will be paired with Victory beers, including their new double IPA, Yakima Twilight. Garces and Victory brewmaster Bill Covalieski will both be on hand. The event is $55 plus tax and tip, reservations required. Here are the courses and pairings:
