Diner’s Journal reports that, not surprisingly, the creditors who are owed a cool $8 million by Tavern on the Green are steamed about the city’s attempts to strip the restaurant of its name and push it out of its space before the lucrative holiday season. A lawyer for the committee who represents most of the creditors, except for Jennifer LeRoy’s mother (who lent $1.9 million to the corporation), said, “The city has mounted a scorched-earth litigation battle against Tavern and its creditors.” Needless to say, the city’s lawyer begs to differ.
