PawBar Pours ‘Dog Beer’ For Belmont Shores

We all know people who put their pets before their pals and now these sorts of animal lovers in Long Beach have a restaurant to frequent with Rover, rather than split the check with human companions. Pussy and Pooch opened a Long Beach location at the end of last month in Belmont Shores, with a plan to only serve raw food at the second installment of their Pawbar (one exists Downtown). You’ll have to leave Moby at home for this one, as it’s only uncooked meat coming across the counter, all with your animal in mind. Co-owner Janene Zakrajsek tells The Press-Telegram that “It’s food as nature intended… They need to eat meat, not grain, not filler, not kibble.”

To this end, she and husband Rob Gaudio sell pre-packaged food that is mostly organic, as well as pet toys. But it’s Pawbar that pampers pets with “dog beer” (malted chicken or beef flavored Vitamin water) and animal-friendly sushi made-to-order. The bar fits three pets at a time to eat treats based on animal protein, with only a small amount of plant matter, perfect for carnivorous pets. The couple is currently working on a pet spa in Pussy and Pooch’s backroom, while the Belmont Shores locale has taken off to great initial popularity.
