Pastry Chefs Kick Off Holidays with Dessert Discussion

With the Thanksgiving kick-off to the holiday season covered by standard pumpkin pie, home chefs may be looking to expand their horizons during the month leading up to Christmas. Or maybe you just want to think a lot about dessert as you sample those made by others. Either way, if you’re into pastry you’ll want to check out the Commonwealth Club’s panel discussion on “The State of Pastry in SF” next Monday, Dec. 1. Absinthe’s Luis Villavelazquez, Quince’s William Werner, Citizen Cake’s Elizabeth Falkner, and Michael Mina’s Bill Corbett will discuss dessert with 7x7’s Jessica Battilana moderating. While it’s unlikely sparks will fly, you will certainly walk away with some sweet ideas. And hey, if somebody gets enough of that complimentary Tenuta Vineyards port in them, there’s no telling what can happen. Buy your tickets here.
