There’s a new pastry chef at Restaurant Michael Mina, and guess what? She’s from Craft in Los Angeles. Catherine Schimenti is the third staffer from Craft to move to the Bay Area this fall, following Matt Accarrino at SPQR, and Mike Magliano at the upcoming Bluestem Steakhouse and Brasserie. She also worked at Per Se and Craftsteak in New York before heading west. “She brings to us tremendous skill and passion for her craft, and an innovative and modern, yet refined approach to pastry which complements our menu and style beautifully,” Mina said in a statement. Welcome aboard, Schimenti.
